The Bank of Nova Scotia has renewed for another year, its partnership with the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club (RHTY&SC). Executive Mark Papannah earlier this week received a cheque from the Bank’s
Marketing Executive Ms. Jennifer Cipriani valued $365,000.
The sponsorship covers support for the club’s annual Youth Review Magazine, Tribute to Teachers, Inter School Essay Competition and Annual Awards Ceremony.
Papannah, in remarks observed that the club last year completed a record of 302 programmes/activities for its Silver Jubilee anniversary year and has committed itself to completing 300 programmes for 2016 under the sub-heading of sports, education, charity, awards/honours, religious, jobs among others.
Scotia Bank over the past six years has become a major sponsor of the RHTY&SC and Papannah hailed the Bank for its support. The club’s executive has expressed gratitude to Cipriani and Scotia Bank for being one of the foundation pillars of its success over the years.
Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster disclosed that special emphasis would be placed on the promotion of sports and education in 2016 along with making sure that deserving Berbicians are honoured for their contribution to the development of the ancient county and Guyana.
The Tribute to Teachers programme would see 10 teachers in the Lower Corentyne area being recognized while the essay competition would be opened to all schools across Berbice with the topic related to Guyana’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations.
Foster further disclosed that the club’s 2016 Youth Review Magazine would be a special edition as it would focus mainly on the club’s Silver Jubilee celebrations last year. The announcement of the Medal of Service award has renewed the passion of the club’s executives and members and they are working hard to achieve the projected target of 300 programmes/activities by mid-October.
Scotia Bank Marketing Executive Jennifer Cipriani stated that the Bank was proud to be associated with the RHTY&SC, an organization which has a remarkable history of achievements.
The bank strongly believes in investing in youths, education and sports as part of its corporate responsibilities and hailed the club as a role model organisation which gets things done to the satisfaction of sponsors. Cipriani congratulated the club on its Medal of Service award and urged its executives to redouble their commitment to always strive in pursuit of excellence.
