In a match reduced to 20-Overs-a-side due to rain, Jason Itwaru hit 73 (5 fours and 3 sixes) to help No. 64
Fighting Marines reach 183 for 5 against No. 59 in Zone M of the New Building Society Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition in Berbice. No. 59 in replying, gave good chase with Rajin Persaud hitting 73 (2 fours and nine sixes) but with Marines offspinner Ramesh Ayana picking up 5 for 10 from 2-Overs at the end, they were bowled out for 171 in 19-Overs scored.
With this win No. 64 Fighting Marines ended their preliminaries tied with No. 48 Challengers but having the superior run rate, they earned the right to advance to the last 16 play-offs of the competition.
Former Berbice Under-19 batsman Hakeem Hinds scored 67 (6 fours) to help Tucber Park to 184 for 7 in 40-Overs against Fort Canje Warriors whose former Berbice allrounder Balram Samaroo gave them a fighting chance with a sensible 72 (5 fours and 2 sixes) but after he fell, the innings folded for 155 in 37.4 Overs. This win enabled Tucber Park to emerge as winners of Zone E and thus going forward to the play-offs.
Also advancing was Young Warriors, who gained a walk over from Betsy Ground Strykers to emerge as winner of Zone F.
Wayne Richards made 85 N.O(6 fours and 2 sixes) to steer Police to 242 for 8 in 30-Overs and after that, Guyana Under-17 offspinner Kevin Sinclair took 6 for 6 from 4-Overs to bowl out Canefield for a paltry 54 in their reply.
Also scoring a half century was Jorm De Freitas of Guyana Eagles.

Fort Canje Warriors 155 in 37.4 Overs with Balram Samaroo 73, Dion Sinclair 2 for 19 and Nial Smith 2 for 25.
At Rose Hall in Canje, Police beat Canefield by 188 runs.
Police 242 for 8 in 30-Overs with Wayne Richards 85 N.O, Robert Barrington 44, Kevin Sinclair 25 and Vijay Balgobin 4 for 25.
Canefield 54 in 18-Overs with Kevin Sinclair 5 for 6, Martin Singh 3 for 6 and Michael Campbelle 2 for 17.
At Lochaber, Guyana Eagles beat Angoy’s Avenue Achievers by 196 runs.
Guyana Eagles 215 for 9 in 30-Overs with Jorm De Freitas 75, Kellon Henry 41, Mark Barker 3 for 35 and Jamal Rose 2 for 40.
Angoy’s Avenue Achievers 109 in 21.4 Overs with Chris Sulker 33, Glendon De Cunha 27, Fiaz Latif 3 for 17, Michael West 2 for 2 and Andy Hidar 2 for 17.
At No. 48, No. 48 Challengers beat No. 43 Scorpion by 110 runs.
No. 48 Challengers 184 in 22.4 Overs with Monesh Kalu 44, Balram Persaud 30, Satesh Baldeo 2 for 38 and Devin Singh 2 for 50.
No. 43 Scorpion 84 in 16.5 Overs with Balram Samaroo 2 for 14 and Balram Persaud 2 for 16.
