The executive and staff of the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) have extended condolences to Guyana and West Indies player Rajendra Chandrika on the passing of his father Baljit Chandrika earlier this week.
In a release the GCB noted that it is never easy to lose a loved one, especially a parent. “Rajendra was very close to his father and looked up to him for guidance and support. We share his pain and grief and extend our most heartfelt sympathy for his loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time and we wish him peace, comfort and courage to face the days ahead.”
The has urged young Chandrika to keep the memories of his father alive by continuing to progress in the sport. “His father was his biggest fan and was proud of his achievements. Remain committed to the sport and forge ahead in the future,” the release concluded.
