Guyanese athletes continue dominance of Bigi Broki Waka 10km& 5km races in Suriname
Like they did last year, Guyana’s distance athletes ruled the roost at the 13th edition of the annual Bigi Broki Waka 10km and 5km races which took place over the famous Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge, Paramaribo, Suriname

on Sunday last.
Cleveland Thomas, who had finished as the runner-up to Cleveland Forde in 2015, took the top podium spot this time around ahead of fellow countryman, Lionel D’Andrade. Winston Missinger placed fourth overall.
The 5km segment of the race saw Devaun Barrington winning; it was won by D’Anrade last year. On the distaff side, Andrea Foster won the overall as well as the junior (13-19yrs) category to start the year in fantastic style. She had placed 2nd to Alika Morgan last year.
There was also a 2km segment of the race for kids. One hundred and seventy five athletes participated in the 10km race, while 276 competed in the 5km.
