Marian Academy twins with the Jinshan High School of the People’s Republic of China
The Marian Academy has formally entered into a twinning agreement with the Fuzhou Jinshan High School from the City of Fuzhou in the Fujian Province of the People’s Republic of China.

This was according to the Global Friendships Foundation (GFF) which is a non- governmental, non-profit organization that works to create and strengthen partnerships between Guyana and international communities around the world.
In a release, the GFF stated that the Principals of both schools have committed to making this new relationship not merely an ostensible one, but rather an affiliation that is tangible and mutually beneficial to the students of both educational institutions.
The affiliation, according to the GFF, has been designed to create, establish and encourage linkages between the two schools with plans for them to learn from each other’s best practices, to promote educational, sporting, and cultural exchanges through the attachment of the students and teachers at each other’s schools.
The Fuzhou Jinshan High School which is a junior middle school and senior high school with 53 classes and 2544 students, it has achieved remarkable accomplishments such as the provincial school with the best physical and subject characteristics.
“The entire campus is well-equipped with first-class facilities, covering an area of 127 mu, with over 50 thousand square meters for buildings, housing a 400 meter long track and field sports ground, an Olympic sized swimming pool, a well-equipped library and state of the art information technology resources” The GFF stated.
The initiative to twin these two schools was undertaken as part of a raft of projects and programmes being undertaken by the GFF.
