Convicted sexual offender, Murphy Noarhan, will be sentenced on Friday, following a probation report.
Noarhan was remanded to prison pending sentence in December after he was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child family member. Noarhan was convicted by a mixed 12-member jury, who returned unanimous guilty verdicts on both counts of the offence. He was represented by Attorney- at- Law, James Bond.
The lawyer had made a request for a probation report to be conducted on his client prior to sentencing. Justice Priya Sewnarine -Beharry granted the request since there was no objection by State Prosecutor, Stacy Goodings.
The Prosecutor, however, asked that the man remain in custody until the time of sentencing. As such, the man was placed in police custody. His trial was conducted in camera, at the Georgetown High Court.
