Just call Me Boss of the Jagdeo Stable with Jockey Nicholas Patrick in control enacted sweet revenge as it won the feature D and lower 1400M event when the Rising Sun Turf Club held the inaugural Mohammed “Nankoo” Shariff Memorial Horse Race meet.
Just Call Me Boss of the Jagdeo Stable with Patrick holding off a fast finishing Spit Fire of the Shariff Stable with Ross in the Feature D and lower race.
The event which was held at The Rising Sun Turf Club was staged in collaboration with the Inshan Bacchus Service and Mining Company and Banks DIH Limited.
Just call Me Boss led for most of the race and lost the lead momentarily to Diplomatic Cat along the back stretch. Spit Fire of the Shariff Stable with Colin Ross on the mount began to make a run along the far turn and came into contention into the homestretch.
However, Just call Me Boss had enough in its tank to hold off the fast finishing Spit Fire to take the $700,000 and the Banks DIH Trophy.
The day however belonged to Red Region of the D Baker Stable as in hit top form to win two events, carting off both the L and K class races.
Other winners on the day were Precise Gold of the Shariff Stable in the E and lower event.
Settling Star of the Shariff Racing Stable again with Ross raced away with the G and lower race.
Quiet Storm of the Mohabir stable won the H2 and lower race. Affinity of the De Mattos stable won the J and lower race.
The champion stable on show was the Shariff stable with Colin Ross the top Jockey on show.
Red Region was adjudged the top horse.
