A Computer Technician from Creative Concepts was released on bail after he made his appearance before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court for forging an appointment letter from the United States (US) Embassy.
Ganraj Ragobeer,27, a computer technician, who hails from 26 Owen Street, Kitty, pleaded not guilty to the charge which read that on October 25, at Georgetown, with intend to defraud, he forged a US Embassy appointment letter.
The accused also denied the allegation which stated that on the same day, he issued the same forged letter from the US Embassy to Vanessa Gomes knowing same to be false.
The Magistrate placed him on $50,000 bail yesterday and ordered him to return to court on January 20.
Ragobeer was represented by Attorney, Paul Braam.
Police Prosecutor, Corporal Deniro Jones made no objections to bail. He told the Court that Gomes paid the accused a sum of money for the visa application to be completed and he issued her with a letter of appointment for an interview at the Embassy.
On the same day in question, she arrived at the Embassy, she was informed that her name was not in the system and that an application was never issued on her behalf.
She reported the matter to the Police and Ragobeer was arrested then charged.
