A fifty four-year old vendor has been charged with the murder of Owen Frederick, a/k ‘Fluffie’ who was stabbed to death on Christmas Day at James Street, Albouystown.
Mark Trevor Greaves of Albouystown was remanded to prison by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan for the indictable offence.
He will make his next court appearance on January 18.
According to reports, Fredericks, who hails from Berbice, was stabbed to death during an altercation with the accused. It was reported that Fredericks was stabbed to the neck and chest with a knife. He was pronounced dead at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC).
The incident occurred around 15:00hrs on the day in question.
Both men are said to be drug addicts and did odd jobs for a living.
