A bus conductor made an appearance before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court, charged with threatening and abusive language to his father.
Mark Mohamed, 21, a Route 42 Bus Conductor, who resides at Lot 131 Diamond, East Bank Demerara, pleaded guilty to the charge which stated, that on December 24, 2015 at Diamond Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, he made use of abusive language to Anthony Mohamed.
The Magistrate fined the defendant $3,000 with an alternative of 17 days’ imprisonment.
Police Prosecutor, Corporal Deniro Jones, told the court that the defendant is the son of the Complainant, Anthony Mohamed. On the day in question, Jones said that the complainant threatened to kill his father. Jones said that the older Mohamed summoned the police, who arrested Mark Mohamed.
According to the Prosecutor, the young man told his father, “if you come out, I will catch you and kill you”.
