APNU/ AFC Regional Councillor, Hardat Narine, aka “Sham” has critized doctors at the Suddie Public Hospital for not initiating firm action against the people who have stolen one of the two Electro Cardiograph machines which is used by medical practitioners to examine patients who suffer from heart condition.
The ECG machine went missing some time in the latter part of October. Narine is contending that while such an important machine has been stolen from the Suddie Public Hospital, what is most alarming is that no senior official from the hospital operated as though the issue deserved vigorous investigation. The angry Councillor said it’s a shame to know that there are people who are operating in a civilised world and their mentality has not yet been refined.
Narine said he would not sit idle and allow people who have wicked intentions to destroy Government property and equipment.
And Narine is calling on Public Health Minister, Dr. George Norton, to personally intervene. He has further lamented that the Suddie Public Hospital needs a complete overhaul. Narine stressed that unless this happens soon, people would continue to operate like when the People’s Progressive Party (PPP/C) were in office.
Meanwhile, the Councillor said that it was also brought to his attention that the hospital is suffering from a drug shortage. Narine said that the hospital received its last shipment of drugs since October 16.
He said that a request for a new shipment of drugs was made by senior officials on October 29, last.
