Giftland, the leading retail company in Guyana, conducted its Annual Christmas gift giving with the Tiger Bay Community yesterday at Nations University Compound, New Market Street, Georgetown.
Joy filled the faces of the children when Santa Claus arrived on the scene. He was assisted by Giftland’s Ambassadors, Alicia Fortune and Devon Davis.
Comedian Lyndon ‘Jumbie’ Jones and Chris Gopaul were also there to add fun and laughter during the event. Ms. Treslyn Rossan who ensured that the children of the community were gathered also assisted and played a major part in the success of the activity.
Christmas Gifts and goodies were given to the children.
This is an annual activity that Giftland has been doing for the past five years. Giftland is dedicated to continue bringing joyful Christmases to the Tiger Bay Community. Although it is now located at the Giftland Mall, Plantation Pattensen, Turkeyen it has retained its commitment to support and develop the surrounding communities. However Tiger Bay has remained a priority.
The activity was also supported by Ansa McAl who provided refreshments; Giftland Mall
tenants— New Glory Chinese Restaurant, Mexican Taco, The Publik who provided snacks and refreshments, and Roosters Grill who donated Hair Accessories for Girls, small Teddy Bears, Heart Shaped Stuffed Toys, Skin Cream and wipes.
Earlier this month, Giftland launched a promotion titled, Celebrate the Season of Giving. Twelve Charities namely—Hauraruni Girls Home, Mahaica Children’s Home, Berbice Anjuman Orphanage, Camal’s International Home, Ruimveldt Children’s Home and Care Center, Shaheed Boys’ Orphanage, David Rose Special Needs School, Fairview School in Iwokrama, Lucille King Foundation in Linden, St. Cuthbert’s Mission Centre for Kids, Sophia Women Entrepreneur Group and West La Penitence Literacy Project will receive a $500 Gift Voucher for every $5,000 spent by Giftland Shoppers.
Total donation raised thus far, which will be equally divided to the 12 Charities, is $4,379,145.
Giftland, is moreover very appreciative of loyal shoppers in donating and participating for the success of this promotion.
