Tony’s Auto Spares (TAS) on Saturday handed over a Mazda RX-8 sports car manufactured by Mazda to a Bartician who was announced the winner.
Ayube Khan stands at the door of his Mazda RX-8 sports car flanked by some of the other winners of consolation prizes.
Thirteen winners were announced and given various vouchers and prizes. They were Alex Grant, Joel Londle, V. Pitamber, Leroy Recce, Mahendra Tulsie, H. Parris, Vickram Singh, Somdat Jagdeo, Gopaul Jailall, Alana Fiffee, Richard Shew and others. The winners came from Linden, Berbice, Central and South Georgetown, Enmore and Bartica.
The winner of the Mazda RX-8 sports car, Ayube Khan said he usually visited the company’s Light Street branch where he makes various purchases, but he never expected to actually win anything in the promotion.
The pleasantly shocked Khan noted that he had purchased some truck seals sometimes ago and decided to fill out the usual coupons never actually believing that he would really win anything. However, he smiled and related that he would be the third person owning the Mazda RX-8 sports car in Bartica where he plans to make good use of it.
Manager of Tony’s Auto Spare, Suresh Singh, said the year was not as vibrant as expected but in 2016 the company is planning to give away a higher end vehicle based on customers support. He said patrons have expressed support for the company on every occasion when someone walks into the store to make a purchase which contributes to the prizes that are up for grabs.
To enter, any customer spending $8,000 or more at Tony’s Light Street, Alberttown, Georgetown branch or at the company’s new branch at Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara will be given a coupon. In addition to the $3M vehicle which is upgraded with accessories, dozens of consolation prizes will also be up for grabs.
Last year, an East Coast Demerara resident walked away with one Nissan March motorcar as part of the company’s dual car promotion which it plans to host annually.
The Marketing Manager at Tony‘s Auto Spares, Troy Edmondson, said that the company will also be collaborating with other entities to further give back to loyal customers.
He noted that most people know that Mazda builds sporty cars. But for some, it’s the company’s history of building true sports cars with lightweight rotary engines that sets it apart from the competition. The Mazda RX-8 was one of these models.
Edmondson explained that the promotion is part of TAS 25th anniversary celebrations and comes on the heels of last year’s promotion.
Since formation in 1991, Tony’s Auto Spares has grown to become one of the leading wholesaler/retailer of world renowned auto parts, tubes, tyres, and batteries.
