A convicted sexual offender has been remanded to prison pending sentence. Murphy Noarhan was remanded to prison on Friday, after he was found guilty of two counts of sexual activity with a child family member.
Noarhan was convicted by a mixed 12-member jury, who returned unanimous guilty verdicts on both counts of the offence. He was represented by Attorney- at-Law, James Bond.
The lawyer made a request for a probation report to be conducted on his client prior to sentencing. Justice Priya Sewnarine -Beharry granted the request since there was no objection by State Prosecutor, Stacy Goodings.
The Prosecutor however, asked that the man remain in custody until the time of sentencing. As such, the man was placed in police custody until December 28. His trial was conducted in camera, at the Georgetown High Court.
