The Jaguars ended the second day of their fifth round game against Jamaica Scorpions with an overall lead of 172 going into the penultimate day today at Sabina Park in Kingston.
After being bowled out for a disappointing 189 in their first innings, the Jaguars enjoyed the better of the exchanges yesterday after dismissing the Jamaicans, who began the day on 63-3, for 146.
Left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul captured another five-wicket haul while off-spinner Steven Jacobs bagged two wickets.
By the close the Jaguars, in their second innings, had lost Assad Fudadin (9), Skipper Leon Johnson (42) and Vishaul Singh (17) to be 133-3 with Taignarine Chanderpaul on 39 and Raymon Reifer on 12.
Fudadin was the first to go LBW to Marquino Mindley before Johnson again wasted a good start when he was stumped by Carlton Baugh off Damion Jacobs before Singh, who was just starting to look good when, for the second time in successive games, he was run out.
Meanwhile, in St Lucia the Windwards Volanones fell for 306 and the T&T Red Force are 153-3, trailing by 153.
In Barbados the Leewards Hurricanes were bowled out at the end of day two for 170, still trailing by 198 as Ashley Nurse captured five wickets and got support from Miguel Cummins who bagged four. Barbados Pride scored 368 in their first innings.
