Dec 09, 2015 Letters
Dear Editor,
I’m a recent letter from me to your newspaper. Kudas was given to the Government which by all means I say this unequivocally they deserve.
But I have often said some times the runner stumble. A question I want to ask before I continue. Your house is lacking in various parts bedroom, kitchen etc. You cannot afford to do all at the same time, will it show wisdom for you to stop the leak in the kitchen conclusively and leave the bedroom only partially stopped; the place where you spend almost half of your life. The government has given us senior folk an identity and they are to my mind trying their best. But our efforts need to be prioritized and balanced in a meticulous manner.
On the morning of 7/12/2015, I left my home at approximately 4:30 so that I can have an early attendance to be back early. The doors of the post office were opened at 7:30 precisely. Note there were many senior citizen there I think like me who were hoping to be back home by eight, because they might have left home like me without eating. Lo and behold! We were made to stand, I repeat stand in a line (there were a few who found seat) from 7:30 until 9:00 o clock like beggars waiting for the pittance that the masters have to offer. The masters will not hasten to serve you but they do it at their leisure and you the miserly beggar must wait because you cannot do better. All the time we stood in line nobody but nobody offered a word of sympathy or of consolation in trying to appease any digest.
It is written in Ephesians Chapter 6
(5) Servants be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling in single of heart as unto Christ.
(6) Not with eye services as men pleasers, but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God. From the heart.
(7) With good will doing service to the Lord and not to men.
(8) Know that whatsoever good thing any man doeth the same shall he receive of the Lord whither he be bond of free.
(9) And ye masters do the same thing unto them fore bearing threatening, know that your master in heaven, neither is there respect of person with him.
Is that the way senior citizens should be treated? I wonder. My thought is that if we start something let us finish it remembering that human recourse is our greatest asset.
And life which encompasses time is God’s greatest gift to man.
