For the first time Region Ten has its own bitumen plant, thus making life easier for
residents to have better roads.
Regional Chairman Renis Morian, during a visit to the plant in Wisroc on Tuesday, said that credit must be given to Minister of Infrastructure David Patterson.
Morian said, “This plant is operating in collaboration with the Demerara Harbour Bridge and the Ministry of (Public) Infrastructure. This is a new mobile machine and the Region is blessed to have it here for the first time.
“It is only two weeks since it has been operational. They only did a test mixture and it was done perfectly.”
He also noted that Region Ten and the area where it is placed are perfect, because it has the sand and the stone readily available.
The Chairman was accompanied by the Vice Chairman, Councilors and staff of the Regional Democratic Council.
