Former Berbice Under-19 allrounder Khemraj Mahadeo turned in an outstanding allround performance that propelled his team Rose Hall Town Bakewell to a 9-wicket over Whim National in their final Zone K preliminary match of the 2015
New Building Society Second Division 40-Over Cricket Competition in Berbice. This win left Rose Hall Town tied with Port Mourant and Tain Block Four on top of the Zone but they having the superior run rate of the three, were declared the winner of the Zone, thus earning their place in the play-offs.
Mahadeo firstly took 5 for 20 from 6 Overs with his offspin to bowl out Whim for 157. Then opening the batting he hot 80 not out (10 fours) being involved in a 73-run opening partnership with Vidal Crandon (33) and an unbroken 87-run 2nd wicket stand with West Indies Female cricketer Shemaine Campbelle (30 N.O.) to steer Rose Hall Town to 160 for 1 in 23-Overs.
Led by 94 (6 fours and 6 sixes) from Vinode Samaroo, Letterkenny Young Star made a decent 198 in 29.3 Overs against Tain Block Four. However, Imran Khan slammed 82 (4 fours and 8 sixes) to steer Tain to 202 for 4 in 29.1 Overs and victory.
Other batsmen scoring half centuries were Baichan Deonarine of Kendall’s Union A and Davendra Baijnauth of Kendall’s Union B.
