A Guyanese national living in Trinidad and Tobago has died in hospital, days after being beaten,
stabbed and burnt alive by two men in Carapichaima.
According to reports, Deokaran Seokaran had gone to the Downhome Bar on Waterloo Road, Carapichaima, when around 4.30 on the morning of November 29th, he went to the washroom.
He was accosted by two men, who robbed him and stabbed him twice.
Seokaran ran out of the bar and sought help at a private residence nearby.
However, the men followed him, doused him with a flammable liquid and lit him on fire, before making their escape.
Seokaran was assisted by patrons of the bar and rushed to the Couva Health Centre. He was later transferred to the San Fernando General Hospital in critical condition, suffering from 90% burns across his body.
He died at hospital on Saturday night. (www.cnc3.co.tt)
