Detectives yesterday expressed fear regarding the fate of six-year-old Daniel Adolphus, who remains missing from his parents’ Richmond Hill, Essequibo home, almost a week ago.
They have questioned the child’s parents, Junior and Natasha Adolphus, extensively, about his whereabouts, while also searching their residence and the environs.
The couple was detained on Sunday, when husband and wife reportedly attempted to leave the Essequibo Coast for Georgetown. They were released yesterday.
Pauline Benn, a sister of the boy’s father, said that her sibling told her that he had gone to bed last Wednesday night, while his son had watched television.
The father allegedly stated that he awoke around midnight and saw one of the doors open and his son was missing.
Junior subsequently alerted his sisters and wife about the child’s disappearance.
Relatives have searched the back dam, the sea walls, nearby trenches and isolated areas.
Last April, Junior Adolphus, the father, was arrested and charged for allegedly attempting to slash his son’s throat.
However, the matter was dismissed after the accused underwent a medical evaluation.
