The Mobile Wizard 10/10 organized by the Guyana Softball League in collaboration with The West Demerara area board enters its 8th week and teams will continue their quest to stay in the first six in this zone. The first six teams in this zone will qualify for the quarterfinals with one team from the East Bank Zone and one from Bonasika will complete the round off to the quarterfinals. The tournament which is sponsored by Mobile Wizard, Trophy Stall, Wolf’s Furniture Store, Rohan Furniture Establishment, V&P supermarket and Miss Love Trading is expected to be completed by January month end.
The scheduled encounters today are as follows:
Settle XI will play Vipers XI. Settle XI are unbeaten so far with heavy performances from their skipper Nazim Azeem so far that have propelled them among the first six teams. Vipers XI are playing good cricket at the moment and have shown that they have the ability to win. A keenly contested game is anticipated.
Meten-Meer-Zorg XI are a young team who will offer stiff opposition to the Super street Reloaded XI in their clash. They have two wins and with their showing against Omesh XI have the ability to take the fight to the opposition. MMZ XI are a determined bunch and are working hard to overcome weaknesses.
Brickery All Stars will battle Leonora Youths XI. This game will see, Brickery All Stars, are a good mixture of youth and experience and will depend heavily on their opening batters to fire as they have shown against other opposition. But the tangle with Leonora Youths, a seasoned bunch and will depend heavily on Raghunath Tulsiram and Krishna Murti in the batting as these two blasted them to victory last weekend. The bowling is coming on now and they have a lot of ground to cover in order to stay in the top six.
And Undefeated Cross breed XI take on Ocean View XI, Irfaan XI battle Zeeburg Warriors in a game where mental toughness could determine the winner.
Meanwhile, the one ball manto will resume this week and spectators will get the opportunity to get involved in the contest of bat versus ball. The winner is rewarded with $1000 in credit compliments of Miss Love Trading.
The man of the day will receive one footstool pouf compliments of Rohan Furniture Establishment and a bottle of Champagne compliments of V&P supermarket.
