The US Open Table Tennis Championships, one of the biggest team championships in the world, had over 200 competing teams and 1000 participating players from all over the world; the format of the competition exposes players at different levels.
According to President of the Guyana Table Tennis Association (GTTA), Godfrey Munroe, the tournament exposes participating players to all levels of competition that serves the development purpose the association intended from the tour.
The Guyanese team featured Tyriq Saunders, Neveah Clarkston, Thuraia Thomas, Aneka Phillips, Delecia Cummings, Yuedistir Persaud, Navindra Persaud, Niron Bissu, Krystan Sahadeo, Colin Wong, Miguel Wong, Alec Hopkinson, Nigel Bryan, Joel Alleyne, Nicholas Romain, Brandon Jaikarran, Orlando McEwen, Raynor Anderson, Jamal Nicholas, Isaiah Layne, Priscilla Greaves, Shemar Britton, and Coach, Idi Lewis.
