Channel 9 Warriors was the lone debutant left standing at the end of Round of 16 action in the Georgetown Zone of the Guinness ‘Greatest of the Streets’ Futsal Competition which continued on Wednesday night

Appearing in the fifth fixture of the night, the Warriors through a 24th minute strike from Joshua Fiffie nipped former champions Leopold Street by a 1-0 margin to book their place in the quarter-finals set for this evening at the same venue.
Earlier, the other teams who had made their first appearance in the competition Upsetters, Old School Ballers and Jamoon Drive found the going too tough, exiting the tournament via a 3-1 loss to East Front Road, a penalty shootout defeat at the hands of Bent Street and a 3-0 thumping by Back Circle respectively.
Also, making it to the next stage were defending champion North Ruimveldt, who survived a slugfest against West Back Raod, before emerging winners via a penalty shootout 2-1.
Sparta Boss, West Front Road ‘Gold is Money’ and North East La Penitence complete the quarter-final line-up.
