Matches planned for today and tomorrow
Following last week’s postponement due to a sodden outfield, organisers of the
Smalta / Ministry of Public Health Girls 11 and under Pee Wee Football Tournament have decided that to make up for lost time there will have to be back to back rounds this weekend at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.
Matches will be played today and tomorrow with some teams playing on both days to return the tournament on schedule.
Defending champion Stella Maris opening the competition with a win and they will be looking to continue in that same vein when they face Sophia in the final encounter of the day.
They return tomorrow to engage South Ruimveldt in what should be a tough assignment for them.
West Ruimvedt and St.Pius too play back to back and it will be interesting to see how some of the better teams cope with this unavoidable development.
