The Georgetown Domino Association (GDA) has planned a three-week competition to honour the late President of the entity Orin Joseph at his wife’s residence 1223 Gaulding Place, South Ruimveldt.
According to a release, from the GDA, the first round of action will begin tomorrow, starting from 15:00 hrs and teams are expected from East and West Bank Demerara, East Coast Demerara, Bartica and Essequibo and they will join some of the best teams in Georgetown and Public and Private Organisations to compete for prize monies in excess of $400,000 and trophies.
The event which is being organised by GDA President Faye Joseph will see the winning team cart off $200,000 and a trophy, runner-up $100,000 and a trophy and third place $75,000 and a trophy.
Entrance fee is $10,000 per team.
Special prizes will be given to the Most Valuable Player of the Tournament and the Best Female Team.
The competition is expected to conclude on December 20.
