Veteran golfer and 2011 Guyana Open Champion, Fazil ‘That’s it’ Haniff, again emerged champion at Lusignan in the 11th annual sponsored Grand Coastal Hotel & Restaurant of Le Ressouvenir, East Coast Demerara golf tournament last Saturday. Last year it was ‘That’s it’ son, rookie Richard Haniff, who took the top prize.

Former Club President Mr Hilbert Shields in thanking Mr Kevin Daby, son of the owner and now Director of Grand Coastal, considered that the good relation initiated so many years ago between then Captain Mr Patrick Prashad and Mr Mokesh Daby has been maintained by Mr Kevin Daby. LGC is grateful for this faithful annual support and looks forward to the same spirited support from Grand Coastal – rated as “your number one choice for business or pleasure accommodations in Guyana, South America,”- through coming years.
Mr Kevin Daby assured the Club that he, like his father, continue to look to support the Club via annual sponsorship and sees this continuing as long as they are around.
The winners of Saturday’s tournament played on the Medal Play system were: 1st F. Haniff – 67/15; 2nd Parmanand Max Persaud of Crown Mining – 69/16; 3rd Lakeram Penko Ramsundar, also of Crown Mining, – 70/12; 4th Patrick Prashad (Club Vice President) 71/9; Nearest to the Pin – Patrick Prashad; and Best Gross (80) – also Patrick Prashad.
