The Suddie Hospital was the venue for a recent medical outreach, in which patients were able to access a number of crucial services. The services were facilitated by a Chinese Medical team whose visit to the Region Two Hospital was facilitated by the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
The team which also included local specialists, arrived at the Suddie Hospital on Friday last and met with the Administrator, the Regional Health Officer and acting Medical Superintendent. A brief tour and orientation of the hospital was also conducted with the team.
In addition to five minor surgeries by plastic and general surgeons the team attended to patients in a number of specialist fields including Orthopaedics (15 cases), Nephrology/Internal Medicince (25 cases), Obstetrics and Gynaecology (50 cases), General Surgery (30 cases), Paediatrics (35 cases), Anaesthesia (5 cases) and Radiology (10 cases).
The Chinese Medical Team also donated some surgical instruments and other equipment to the Suddie Hospital.
