The eighth annual Enterprise Busta Sports Club (EBSC) festival will bowl off this weekend with nine matches at various venues on the East Coast of Demerara.
18 teams will compete for the first prize of $50,000 and the Busta trophy. The losing finalist will pocked $25,000 and a trophy, while the Player-of-the-Final, the batsman with the most runs and the bowler with the most wickets will all receive cash incentives.
Four games will be played at two venues today. At the Enmore Community Centre ground, Avish Auto Sales will take on Golden Achievers at 09:30h, followed by Enmore against Golden Grove at 13:30h. Over on the Enterprise ground, Fairfield will face Strathavon at 09:30h, and Confusion XI and Buxton will square off at 13:30h.
Tomorrow at the Ogle ground, Enterprise B will face Mon Repos at 09:30h and Bravado will battle Ogle at 13:30h, while over on the Better Hope ground, the home team will entertain Mahaica at 13:30h. At the Enterprise ground, defending champions Enterprise A will tackle Ogle Masters at 09:30h, followed by Enterprise XI against Helena at 13:30h.
Since nine teams will advance to the next round of the knockout competition, an eliminator will be played on November 28 to determine the final quarter-final spot. The quarter-finals are billed for the following day.
The semi-finals will take place on December 5, while the championship game will be held the next day.
