Betsy Ground Triple Star score double wins
Betsy Ground Triple Star secured wins in their last two matches of the preliminary rounds of the Ramnarine Appiah (Brother Appiah) Memorial Twenty-over cricket competition for second division teams in the East Canje/Lower East
Coast, Berbice area. They now have a chance to qualify for the semi-finals based on net run rate with Rose Hall Community Center and Canje Pathfinders.
Both matches were played at the Goed Bananen Land Ground. In the other two matches played at the Rose Hall Estate Ground, the host got the better of Kendall’s Union B Team, while Kendall’s Union A won against Seawell.

At Goed Bananen Land ground from 9:30AM, Canje Pathfinders batted first and made a respectable 153 for 7 off their allotted 20 overs. I. Harrinandan made 38 and S Badal 32. Bowling for BGTS, O. Emamdin took 2 for 18 and W. Sobhai 2 for 31. In reply, BGTS made 156 for 7 off 19 overs to win by 3 wickets. R. Jugisteer made 44 and A. Gopaul 32. Bowling for Canje Pathfinders Y. Barran and T. Dipoo took three wickets a piece.
In game number two from 1:30PM, Goed Bananen Land made a challenging 166 for 7 off 20 overs with Devanand Cyril 51 and Imran Hussain 40. K. Doerga took 3 for 23. BGTS raced to 169 for 3 wickets off 16.3 overs to complete their second win of the day. T. Ramdat 47, R. Jugisteer 29 and W. Sobhai 23 were the major contributors for the winners. Imran Hussain took 2 for 30 for the home team.
Over at Rose Hall Estate Ground from 9:30AM, Kendalls Union A won against Seawell by 6 wickets and gave themselves a good chance of securing the second semi-final spot in their zone after Young Warriors Cricket Club were the first to qualify as the winners. Seawell won the toss and took first strike. They made a
disappointing 131 all out in 19.5 overs. Anirudh Woarti topscored with 55 and Amit Ramroop 28. Navendra Mangra and A. Ramnarine took two wickets each. In reply, Kendalls A won comfortably ending on 135 for 4 in 14.5 overs. Dasrath Debiden topscored with 45 and Mangra 43.
At the same venue from 1:30PM, the home team won the toss against Kendall’s Union B and scored a massive 203 for 6 off 20 overs. Adrian Haralsingh made 39 with 2 fours and 3 sixes. Former Berbice youth cricketer Sanjay Khan supported with 31 N.O., Andre Grant 25 and Khemraj Dyal 23. Kendall’s Union B were routed for a meager 85 to lose by 118 runs with Chandranauth Kedarnauth offering the only resistance with 26 consisting of 4 fours. Bowling for RHECC, skipper Ameer Rahaman took 4 for 8 off 4 overs, Khan 3 for 15 and Kristoff Bahadur 2 for 1.
