Born May 27, 1996 in Georgetown, young Grace Williams spent bits and pieces of her life between Guyana and the British Virgin Islands, finally settling in Guyana in 2010.
Throughout her life, Grace has always been an inquisitive and fiercely organized child. It was due to this that her family, whenever they wished to celebrate an event, would task her with organizing it.
As a young girl, whenever attending events she would pay critical attention to how everything was organized and the level of creativity employed.
By the age of 16, young Grace had already created a name for herself among her family members and close friends for the talent she had shown towards the art of event planning.
This talent was also recognized by the church which she attends. The body began asking her to organize some of their events. “I’ve always been obsessed with organizing stuff,” the still young Grace Williams jokingly admitted. “I even have a little black book which would show how crazy I am about organizing.”
Nineteen years old now, Grace has developed from organizing family, church events and little black books to creating beautiful experiences for those who retain her services. She has honed her passion into a thriving business.
While she related that she had always had an interest in planning events, she never saw it as more than a hobby. It wasn’t until she was tasked with planning her one-year-old cousin’s birthday party that the idea of making it a business soon took root.
After restless days and nights, the day of the party which was “Fairy” themed garnered a plethora of positive responses from those in attendance. Parents at the party had asked her whether she did event planning as a business to which she had responded in the negative. After that however, she began to think that maybe this was something she ought to do.
At the time, she was in her first year at the University of Guyana studying International Relations but after encouragement from family, friends and an investor, she began to seriously think of it.
She subsequently hired someone to create a logo for the business and another for business cards. Before doing all of that however, she related that the first thing she did was register the business, “Everything Bella Events” as she didn’t want to be operating something which was not legally registered.
When asked what she hopes to achieve with her business, she said “I’m hoping to make event planning something that is recognized and practised on a wider scale in Guyana.”
The event planning business offers three different packages which can be tailored to individual wants. They are bronze, silver and gold. With regards to the events under the business’s scope, she tattled off an impressive list which basically includes all events in the scope of celebrations, conferences, promotions, commemoration events and fashion shows.
While stating that it is not easy being a young entrepreneur as people tend to not take you seriously, she said that what she does is always try to prove them wrong.
“I want to become someone who people look up to so they can see that age is not a factor in doing great things if you stick to your passion. Everything Bella events name in itself tells what people should expect when coming to me.”
