His Excellency, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, Brigadier David Granger and the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, Carl Greenidge departed Guyana yesterday to attend the Fourth Summit of the South America and Arab Countries (ASPA), which will be held on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Centre in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Also on the delegation from Guyana is Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Audrey Waddell.
The summit is a bi-regional mechanism for cooperation and political coordination, held every three years, which gathers the 22 member states of the Arab League and 12 countries of South America to promote mutually beneficial relations.
The delegation from Guyana, led by President Granger, is being flown to Riyadh, courtesy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
