All preparations have been completed and systems are in place for the “Bringing Bush Lot Alive” horserace meet. The event which is organized by the Jumbo Jet business enterprise and the Bush Lot United Turf Club is set for tomorrow at the Bush Lot United Club, Sea View Park, Bush Lot, West Coast, Berbice.
Beverage Giants Banks DIH Limited and leading trophy provider Trophy Stall of Bourda Market and City Mall have come on board to bank roll the event in a big way. The two organizations which are among the leading supporters of sports, especially horseracing in Guyana, along with the Jumbo Jet businesses are making sure that all prizes, trophies and other memorabilia are in place.
The eight race meet has over $7 million dollars in cash, trophies and other incentives up for grabs. When entries closed on Friday over 60 entries have been received and an exciting and action pack day of racing is anticipated especially since there has not been a horserace meet for over two months.
The horses, owners, trainers and grooms will be using this event as preparation for the busy horseracing period in December. A number of top notch events are expected to take place including the Guyana Cup rematch.
The feature event will see the 4 yrs old West Indian bred and the E1& and lower horses battling for a first prize of $600,000 over a distance of 1-mile. Some of the biggest names in the horseracing circle have been lined up to take part including Spit Fire and Jack In MY Style who will renew their rivalry, but will have to get past the likes of Swing Easy, Unsettled, Giants Time, Red and Lovely, Dulahan and Good Will Boy as they all look for a good run down the homestretch.
The Co-feature event is for three year old West Indies bred animals, also over a mile, and will see Storm Bird, Settling Star, It’s My Choice and Keep on Swing in battle again for a winning take of $400,000 and trophy.
There is a race for two year old West Indies bred animals over 6F for a winning pocket of $300,000 and trophy. Witchy Poo will be looking to continue its winning ways against the likes of Red Rocket, Firing Line and Isn’t She Charming.
Animals such as Release the Beast, Sent From Above, Rosetta, Fresh Again and Compare has been entered in the race for G1 and lower horses over 6 ½F for a 300,000 winning pocket and trophy.
The rest of the races are all over 6 ½F and will see the H1 and lower horses galloping for a first prize of $250,000 and trophy. Bird Man, She So Special, Gold D Cova, Sent From Above, Honest Penny, Honest Penny, Royal Empire and Lova Lova are among those entered for that race.
The I1 and lower horses will be looking to take home the $200,000 top money and trophy available for the winner. A number of horses entered in the H and J class event are also slated to participate in the “I” class race. Red Jet, Miss Regina, Party Time, Affinity and Little will be looking to come big in the J1 and lower race for the $150,000 and trophy.
The final race is for animals classified K and lower will see De Gump, Plane Land, Another Storm and Amazon Warrior competing for the winning take of $100,000 and trophy.
Apart from the fascinating horseracing action expected to unfold on the track there will also be added attractions for both adults and kids.
Incentives will be available for the top Jockey and runner up, the top stable and champion trainer among others compliments of the organizers.
