Veteran motorsports professional, the legendary Pat Holder recently paid a courtesy call on Minister of Education, Dr. Rupert Roopnaraine.
The 81-year-old who only retired from active competition in his early seventies, and has spent a lifetime amassing prizes for his accomplishments in cycling, motorcycling and boat racing – had a cordial talk with the Minister before donating to him one of his trophies.
This is the second trophy that Mr. Holder has given away to a senior government official in the past few months, the first being a 1949 cycling trophy that he presented to President David Granger back in June.
Minister Roopnaraine expressed his gratitude for the gift and commended Holder on his lifetime of achievement in both participating in and promoting sport in Guyana.
