Pacesetters edged Colts Wednesday night in a humdinger when the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association
(GABA) League commenced in the Division I Category at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, Homestretch Avenue.
Pacesetters beat Colts 79-77 with national point guard, Travis Burnett pouring in 23 points and shooting guard Stephon Gillis 17 points. Former national forward, Randy Richardson contributed 12 points to the win for the National Champions.
National players, guard, Dave Causway scored 25 points for Colts while centre, Shane Webster added 16 points.
Guard, Shelroy Thomas scored 14 points with Kurt English adding 12 points for the team that has been in recent ascendancy.
In the Under-23 game, University of Guyana Trojans blew out Pepsi Sonics 61-41 as Selvaughn Mosley and Jabar Joseph both scored 12 points for the University.
Joshua Lee had 13 points for Sonics while Abevia Perry had nine points.
