Mark Jeffers grabbed 4-25 off six overs to bowl Leonora to a 30-run victory over St. John’s when
the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) National Secondary Schools League (NSSCL) sponsored by Banks DIH, Rainforest Water and Digicel continued yesterday.
Playing at Zeeburg, Leonora Secondary batted first and were dismissed for 113 in just 15.1 overs. Kevin Christian struck 36 (5×4 1×6) as Keon July bagged 5-37 off 4 overs.
St John’s were sent packing for 83 in 17 overs with Jeffers doing most of the damage.
At Everest, School of the Nations beat Kingston by seven wickets. Batting first, Kingston were shot out for 88 off 14 overs.
Shayaz Samad was the only batsman that got into double figures with 11; Devin Shivraj took 3-9, Bheem Hardyal 3-21 and Christopher Baljit 2-11.
School of the Nations responded with 90-3 in 12.1 overs. Opener Mark Ramsammy stroked an unbeaten 42 (3×4 1×6).
Bishop’s thumped The Business School by four wickets. The Business School were bowled out for 83 in 22 overs, batting first.
Akash Singh got 30; David Sears grabbed 5-12 off five overs. Bishop’s responded with 85-6 in 21 overs.
Sachin Ramroop scored 34; Singh picked up three wickets. Matches continue today in New Amsterdam/Canje Zone with Berbice High School playing New Amsterdam Secondary and at Thirst Park, Camille’s Institute will face Diamond Secondary.
