Yesterday, during a simple ceremony held in the Company’s Canteen, Marketing Manager Anjanie Hackett handed over a cheque for an undisclosed sum to Co-Director of the Petra Organisation Troy Mendonca in the presence of PROs Nadia DeAbreu and Alison Parker.
Speaking at the occasion, Hackett told the gathering of media operatives that the Company’s involvement comes at a time when the corporate community is extremely reticent with its support for the sport due to the state that it is in right now.
She, however, stated that the Petra Organisation which has demonstrated admirable organisational acumen combined with accountability and its long association with the Company was what heavily impacted their decision.
Mendonca in his response first thanked GTT for once again demonstrating faith in the Petra Organisation, adding that because of such confidence it is incumbent on them to organise a tournament of high quality.

Mendonca extended gratitude to the Presidents of the Upper Demerara Football Association, the Berbice Football Association and the East Coast Football Association for approving the participation of a few of their teams.
Normalisation Committee Chairman Clinton Urling also came in for special mention in giving his blessings to the tournament which will run over nine days for total prize monies in excess of $1million, trophies and special prizes for outstanding individual performances.
Also making remarks were DeAbreu and Parker, who both commended the Organisation for staying steadfast to its commitment to develop the sport.
