With the reality of a new champion set to be crowned, the four remaining teams in this year’s Courts Pee Wee Schools Football Competition are no doubt in full preparation mode ahead of Saturday’s semi-finals, at the
Banks DIH ground, Thirst Park.
Additionally, if fans felt that the excitement in this year’s tournament ended at the quarter-final stage, then they are being advised to think again since the four combatants are definitely amongst the best of the lot in the competition.
The matchup that involves last year’s beaten finalist St. Pius and Enterprise should be a gem to watch since both teams possesses lethal marksmen upfront, but the edge must go to the latter that’ve remained prolific throughout the tournament.
They will be relying on Seon Archibald, Martin King and Garfield Caesar to engineer a win, while St. Pius’ pursuit of victory will rest on the shoulders of Brandon Solomon, Christian Jupiter, Selwyn Jones and Mike Prince.
In the other semi-final between St. Angela’s and West Ruimveldt, another fascinating encounter is envisaged.
St. Angela’s has been a model of consistency so far and their 4-0 drubbing of Tucville is a clear signal of their intent to go all the way.
Keyon Douglas, Antwoine Vincent, Nickone Dover, Antonio McArthur and Kenroy Cadogan have all played well and are expected to lead the charge for victory.
On the other hand, West Ruimveldt has always been knocking on the door and they may feel that this is the year that they make the breakthrough.
Michael Oie, who hails from a footballing family, has shown admirable creativity, while Mark Cameron seems to be in scoring form and should they perform as anticipated then their chance of advancing is a good one.
