Team Integrity confirms position
Team Integrity has been asked to remove Mr. Loring Bennons, a Guyana Defence Force Officer, from its slate to contest the upcoming GFF elections consequent to him being instructed by the Force to so withdraw from the nomination process.
It has been advised that the Force has a neutrality policy on issues such as these and, as such, this position has been treated with great respect. Team Integrity remains supremely confident that this withdrawal will in no way impair the strong level of support being afforded to it in its quest to successfully contest the Guyana Football Federation elections.
The Team represents not just the highest level of Integrity but strong competencies in management and organisation, finance and legal affairs. It is for this reason that it has rejected all offers to be joined with any other group contesting.
This is to clearly demonstrate to all stakeholders that the management of football is not being regarded as business as usual.
Team Integrity remains convinced that it represents the better team to advance the majestic sport that is football.
The team remains committed to fulfilling its mandate and warns against grandiose promises being thrown around by competitors who clearly have demonstrated, over the years, a lack of genuine interest in the sport’s development.
Team Integrity wishes to encourage all stakeholders to reject all attempts by those who view the sport as their private market and bedrock for self-growth. Stakeholders are, therefore, asked to join with Team Integrity to give this sport the foundation it needs to grow and develop.
All the members of Team Integrity have demonstrated their competence, love of football and commitment to reviving the sport and working to advance the players’ best interests. Team Integrity’s comprehensive Manifesto outlines plans for the development of the sport and demonstrates the thought and genuine concern we have for the game.
It has been noted with much interest, the erroneous notion regarding Christopher Matthias and possible ties to the team. While the process used to oust Christopher Matthias may be regarded as being founded on political and personal biases, Team Integrity wishes to unequivocally state that Christopher Matthias has not been asked neither has he been considered to play any role in the movement for change.
The support of all genuine parties will be welcomed should the team be given the opportunity to manage the sport.
Team Integrity looks forward to the support of all members of the football fraternity who understand the underlying problems and want to work to propel the game and increase the benefits to its most important stakeholder: our (football) players.
This game is bigger than any of us and Team Integrity has chosen to take the high road to achieve the best in the sport for all.
(Please note that Team Integrity now has its own Facebook Page and that any comments about the upcoming election can be posted to this site.
