Lusignan B overcome Golden Achievers despite Roberts 5-wkt haul
Despite a five-wicket haul from Kevon Roberts, Golden Achievers went down to Lusignan ‘B’ by five runs when
the East Coast Demerara Cricket Association (ECDCA)/Banks Premium Beer T20 knockout competition commenced on Sunday.
Host Lusignan ‘B’ batted first and were bowled out for 93 with C. Gee Narine scoring 18, Tameshwar Motiram 17 and Robin Williams 15; Roberts bagged 5-20 and Seon Walcott 2-14.
Golden Achievers responded with 88-8. Winston London made 28 not out and Premchand Sookdeo 21. D. Agrado snared 2-12.
At Enmore – the home team thumped Mon Repos by 77 runs. Enmore took first strike and managed 134-7. Ameer Khan got 38, Richard Woolford 28 and Ramjet Hiralall 20; R. Vishaul had 2-20. Mon Repos were skittled for 57 in 17 overs in reply. Prem Lall claimed 2-33.
At Fairfield – Perseverance trounced Helena by eight wickets. Batting first, Helena scored 87-8 off their reduced 15 overs. H. Kumar made 25 and Nandram Persaud 21; Perseverance responded with 88-2 in 10.2 overs. Rafael Estrado blasted 56 not out.
Fairfield overcame Unity by 26 runs in the afternoon fixture at the said venue. The host batted first and posted 158-7. Leon Tarjoonchandra cracked 47 and Deonarine Chatura 44. N. Dhanraj and I. Persaud picked up two scalps each. Unity scored 132-8 in reply. M. Horril got 28 and R. Dual 19. Richard Chatura grabbed 3-15 and Targoonchandra 2-13.
At Ogle – Lusignan A beat Ogle Masters by 114 runs. Lusignan A took first knock and rattled up 197-3. Somdat Bharat stroked 51 not out, Steve Ramdass 45, Leon Morgan 38 and Gavin Boodwah 37. Ogle Masters were bowled out for 83 in 15.2 overs. Brian Sukhram and Dylan Conelly hit 20 apiece as Ferron Kadir claimed 3-20, Ramdass 2-17 and Rajendra Naikbarran 2-5.
At Enterprise – Enterprise Legend overcame Strathavon by seven wickets. The visitors batted first and mustered 113-6. Omesh Arjune scored 38 and Syed Khan 23. The home team responded with 117-3 with Mankato Balkissoon scoring 69.
Enterprise A got the better of Mahaica by 81 runs. Enterprise A posted 186-3, batting first. Amir Habib scored 106 not out, Rajendra Chandrika an unbeaten 46 and Vivian Albert 34. Mahaica were sent packing for 105 in reply. Prakash Choti made 34; Zaheer Mohamed Shadir grabbed 4-15, Kamesh Yadram 3-17 and Albert 2-6.
