During yesterday’s opening of bids at the National Procurement and Tender Administration Board (NPTAB), multi-million dollar bids were opened for the supply of line hardware for the Lethem Power Company, Ministry of Public Infrastructure.
This is a project under the auspices of the Hinterland Electrification Company Inc. piloted by former Prime Minister Samuel Hinds. The project’s aim was to provide power systems to homes in as many hinterland communities as possible.
Communities in Regions One, Seven, Eight, Nine and 10 are reported to have so far benefitted from the project.
