BCB congratulates Gudakesh Motie on his selection to the senior national team

“The Berbice Cricket Board was elated to learn of the selection of former West Indies under-19 left arm

spinner in the national senior team for the upcoming regional four day cricket tournament,” the board informed in a release.

“Congratulations are in order for the latest Berbician to be selected for the national senior team, by saying that the BCB continues to invest heavily in Berbice cricket and Motie is a product of that investment,” the release continued. “It was just a matter of time for Motie to make the senior team for he has impressed since he was a kid”, the document stated.
The board thanked all the sponsors, friends and supporters of Berbice Cricket and promised that they will continue to see results from their investment. The board also took the opportunity to wish West Indies left arm spinner and lower order batsman Veerasammy Permaul a speedy recovery from his unfortunate injury.
The board is confident that Motie will do a good job and fill the shoes of his Albion and Berbice team mate. The board encourages him to keep his feet grounded and grab the opportunity with both hands, the release noted.
“The BCB is confident that Motie’s elevation will inspire other young cricketer in Berbice and wishes the team good luck. Kudos were given to the selectors for selecting such a strong, balanced and performance based team. Credit should also be given to the administrators for the long and intense preparation of the players. The weather was also kind,” the document concluded.
The Caribbean Professional League (CPL) Four-Day First-Class Cricket game against the Windwards Volcanoes starts from Friday at Providence.
