Continuing physical works are been executed in Pomeroon/Supenaam to transform the Region into an attractive area that persons would be motivated to visit.
Apart from the concept of creating”green areas” within the Region, the aim is also to ward off potential squatters who may have their eyes on unutilized lands.
Newly installed Regional Executive Officer, Rupert Hopkinson disclosed that the Region plans to establish a number of recreational parks throughout the Essequibo Coast. Hopkinson said that benabs will be installed at the recreational parks while persons visiting the Region will be able to go on boat rides along the stream in the vicinity of Anna Regina.
Hopkinson said that additionally, some reserves would also be transferred into recreational facilities.
