teams in the East Canje/Lower East Coast, Berbice area continued last Sunday with Hamids XI and Kendalls Union Big Team on winners row.

At the Goed Bananen Land ground, the host won the toss and inserted the Kendalls Union Big Team who compiled a challenging 174 for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Narendra Mangra top scored with 43 and got support from S Baker 31 and Dasrath Debidin 21. Bowling for GBL, Javed Ali was a one man army taking 6 for 41. In reply, GBL made a spirited reply but fell short by 5 runs in a thrilling finish ending on 169 for 8 off their allotted overs. R. Britton made 35, Ali 26, D. Cyril 22 and Imran Hussain 21. Mangra returned to take 3 for 21 and A. Ramnarine 2 for 33.
In the second match at the same venue, Hamid Eleven won their second game of the day to stay in contention for the semi finals. Hamid Eleven won the toss against Seawell, took first strike and scored a challenging 204 all out in 20 overs. Asif Gajnabi made 43 and S. Latchaya 30. Bowling for Seawell, R. Gajnabi took 3 for 33 and S. Shivrantoo 2 for 24. Seawell in return made a spirited effort but were bowled out for 152 in 17.3 overs. Lakeshwarnauth Ramdass made 55 and A. Ramsaroop 29. 72 year old Zamin Hamid was again among the wickets taking 3 for 12 and Hassan Hussain 2 for 14.
