The Minister within the Ministry of Education – Department of Culture, Youth and Sport, Nicolette Henry Tuesday received a courtesy call from renowned West Indian Cricketer Colin Croft.
While interacting they discussed a number of areas including the Ministry’s plans for the reintegration of sports in the school curriculum, talent spotting, and cricket development. Croft also shared his experiences in cricket which started at Central High School and moved on to playing with the West Indies team.
Croft, one of the legendary West Indies fast bowlers who struck fear in many opposing batsmen, was home on personal business. On Monday he met with Kaieteur News Publisher Glen and the Sports team. Croft, who after his playing days worked as an engineer and airplane pilot, writes a weekly column for Kaieteur News. He resides between the United and Trinidad.
