A 21-year-old gold miner was released on $150,000 bail after denying a charge of malicious wounding, when he appeared in the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts.
Neville Dundas, of Guyhoc Park, Georgetown is accused of inflicting grievous bodily wounds on John Beresford, with intent to maim, disable or disfigure him. The incident occurred on September 20, at Samaan Street, Guyhoc Park, Georgetown.
Dundas pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan. Police Corporal, Deniro Jones presented the prosecution’s case and had no objections to the defendant being admitted to pre-trial liberty.
Dundas, who had no legal representation, was ordered to return to court on November 2, for continuation.
