Herstelling A and Nandy Park recorded victories when the latest round of matches in the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA) T20 competition concluded on Saturday at Farm.
Herstelling A overcame Herstelling B by 11 runs. Batting first Herstelling A rattled up a challenging 167-9. Ricky Sergeant scored 34 while Wazir Hussain made 21, Anand Bharat 20 and Uniss Yusuf 18. Wazim Ramjattan claimed 3-20 and Narendra Persaud 2-18.
Herstelling B were bowled out for 156 in 20 overs in reply. Dereck Koulen slammed 41, Budhan Baksh made 26 and Shameer Fazal 23. Michael Alexander snared 4-30, Reeyaz Esau 3-19 and Delroy Williams 2-4.
Nandy Park defeated Combined United by 104 runs in the morning fixture. Nandy Park took first strike and posted 189-7. Omeshwar Hurill struck 58 with six fours and three sixes, while Bensroop Shewmangal scored 23 (2×6), Kumar Tuknauth and Rohan Sarjoo got 21 each. Jermaine Ramroop and Rawl Reid picked up two wickets apiece. Combined United replied with 85-8 in 14 overs; two batsmen sustained injuries. They were pegged back by some steady bowling from veteran Sarjoo who finished with 5-22 off four overs, Michael Sultan took 2-24 and Dellon Mc Beth 1-15. Reid stroked 41 inclusive of five fours and two sixes.
Previously, North Soesdyke beat Farm by five runs at the said venue. North Soesdyke batted first and managed 139 all out in 19 overs. Ronald Jai Singh made 25 and Leroy Primo 21; Kenny Lawrence claimed 3-19 and Khemraj Singh 2-26. Farm were restricted for 134-8 in reply. Lawrence slammed 52, Shivram Persaud 22 and Ricky Debidiyal 16. Jai Singh snared 3-22 and Primo 3-30.
Combined United got the better of Uprising by six wickets. Uprising scored 152-8, taking first knock. Omesh Narine hit 35; Reid had 3-16 and Shawn Pooran 2-23.
Combined United responded with 153-4 in 17 overs. Pooran smashed nine fours and six sixes in scoring 100 while Raymond Mitchell had 2-15.
Herstelling B got the better of Nandy Park by 17 runs. Herstelling B rattled up 194 all out in 19.2 overs. Baksh cracked 41 and Chabiraj Ramcharran 35; Narine Dhanraj snared 4-29 and Mark Robhe 2-31. Nandy Park replied with 177 in 20 overs. Rohan Sarjoo slammed 56 and Sunil Dyal 55. Narendra Persaud and Robin Appiah had two scalps apiece.
Herstelling SC beat Ruimveldt in a super over after they played to a tie. Batting first Ruimveldt managed 148 with Kelvin Bovell scoring 27 and Danny Narayan 26. Herstelling responded with 148-9. Anand Bharat made 26 and Rondel Daniels 25; Eon Sukrah claimed 3-14 and T. Mootoo 2-19. In the super over Herstelling scored 25 and Ruimveldt nine.
The competition continues this weekend.
