Several teams will aspire to ink their names among the front runners when action in the National Sports Commission (NSC) Boys’ Under-12 cricket competition continues at venues along the East Coast corridor.
The tournament got underway last Sunday October 10 with competing teams being drawn from Calcutta, Mahaicony ECD right up to Plaisance.
Already, Novar Primary has emerged as the winners of Zone One after defeating Mahaicony Primary on Thursday, October 7 last.
Action in Zone Two ended last Wednesday afternoon with Mon Repos defeating Company Road, Buxton Primary School at the Lusignan Community Centre Ground.
Buxton batted first and amassed 44-6 at the end of its 5 overs after Kevonne Isaacs had scored an unbeaten 30. Verun Mangal was the principal wicket taker for Mon Repos with 3-12. Arsenio McDonald then contributed 17 for Mon Repos to lead his team to 45-5 in 4.4 overs.
The action will resume today when several teams from Virginia, Cane Grove and Unity convene at the Mahaica school compound for their matches.
