North Georgetown overcome Marian Academy
North Georgetown overcame Marian Academy by seven wickets when the Guyana Cricket
Board/Scotiabank progression one Kiddy cricket continued yesterday.
Marian Academy batted first and scored 105-9 at the National Racquet Centre.
Opener Kyle Chung blasted 22 with two sixes while Michael Alphonso made 16. Niomi Barkoye, Mervin Sears and Shiloh Adams claimed two wickets apiece. North Georgetown responded with 106-6 in 13 overs.
Adams slammed four fours and one six in a brisk 25 while Sears finished unbeaten on 25 (1×4 3×6) and Barkoye made 20 (1×4). Georgiana Fernandes and Ashana Naraine took two wickets each.
West Demerara Zone
At Zeeburg, Hague overcame Den Amstel by five runs on Wednesday. Batting first, Hague managed 106-7 off their allotted 14 overs with 62 extras.
Reuel Caroll, Nathan Haywood and Talya Carol took one wicket each. Dem Amstel responded with 101-6. Prudence Hilliman made 19, Nikosi Williams 17 and Haywood 11.
Jailall Boodhoo, Nalini Cirdhani, Radha Girdhani and Brian De Putron had one scalp apiece.
On Tuesday, Cornelia Ida (CI) beat Leonora by 12 wickets. Leonora scored 73-9 in 14 overs, batting first.
Extras contributed 22 and Aditya Jetto made 12.
Etan Khan, Nicholas James and Devindra Gobin captured two wickets each. CI replied with 75-2 in 14 overs.
Windsor Forest thumped Blankenburg by 83 runs. Windsor Forest rattled up 194-1 in 14 overs, taking first strike.
R. Hemchand stroked 94 which contained nine fours and five sixes while R. Arjoon slammed 59 with seven fours and two sixes. F. Sattaur took the only wicket to fall. Blankenburg made 111-6 in 14 overs in response.
F. Miggins hit 26 while extras supported with 52. S. Ali picked up 2-12 while R. Balgobin and Z. Mansoor had one each.
According to the competition regulations, each team shall be comprised of 14 players, and each player must bowl one over.
