One of the drivers involved in the horrific two-car accident that occurred around midnight on Sunday on Princess Elizabeth road, New Amsterdam remains hospitalized.
According to information motor cars PLL 7259, driven by Charlyle De Souza, 28, of Lot 40 Stanleytown, New Amsterdam; and PHH 5322 driven by Andrew Gunraj, 24, of Bermine Housing Scheme, New Amsterdam were heading in the same direction toward New Amsterdam.
It is understood that PHH 5322 was in front and PLL 7259 was about to overtake the other car when they collided, forcing both vehicles to topple.
The drivers of the two vehicles were both rushed to the New Amsterdam hospital where Gunraj was admitted with a fractured left shoulder.
The other driver, De Souza, was treated for minor injuries. Investigations are continuing and charges are likely soon.
