The much anticipated final of the Berbice Cricket Board’s (BCB) Berbice River Bridge Company sponsored first division 50-over cricket competition will now be played at the Port Mourant ground on October 10.
The final, which was postponed due to a protest by Port Mourant (PM) who claimed that Rajeev Ivan, who played for Rose Hall Town & Sports Club (RHTYSC) in this competition, was not released to play for that team.
Port Mourant however, withdrew it protest when it was discovered that Ivan was never officially released in the first place by Rose Hall Town and although he played for Port Mourant the matches were not BCB competitions since there was no first division in Berbice before this competition.
The matter was heard yesterday afternoon and competitions committee of the BCB set the new date for the final which will see Albion clashing with RHTYSC. (Sean Devers)
